Mel Kuys

We are privileged to have Melissa Kuys as our Director of Coaching. Mel's responsibilities include developing, promoting, and advancing coaches, junior football, and players within the club. Known for her prowess in Women's Football, Mel has had an amazing career.

She joined Collingwood in the 2016 AFLW Draft after leading Knox in the VWFL, guiding them to the Grand Final in Division 1 in 2015. Following a consistent 2017 AFLW Season, Mel was recruited by Box Hill to captain the inaugural Women's side for the club in the VWFL. The 2018 season proved successful for Mel, utilising her impactful running skills on the wings to disrupt the game and propel the team forward.

Beginning at the age of 9 years old, Mel has played at many clubs during her football journey including; Rowville Hawks, Ferntree Gully, Eastern Lions, Scoresby Magpies, Knox Falcons, Box Hill Hawks, St Kilda and currently Port Melbourne Borough. Her first captaincy came at Knox Falcons in 2015/2016, where she also won the best and fairest award in a season in which the club only won one game.
