Training

PMCJFC has a strong emphasis on skill development and fostering a fun, supportive environment for all players. The club provides qualified coaches and development officers to ensure that players are improving in a safe, structured way. Training may include drills for basic skills, game simulation, fitness exercises, and team-building activities.

All players are expected to attend all training sessions unless precluded by school commitments, summer sports, genuine illness or holidays away from Melbourne. Please notify Team Managers if your child will not be at training.

Team Managers will communicate via the teams WhatsApp group. This ensures that all parents and players stay informed about training times and any changes due to weather or other factors.

Pre-Season Training

We are kicking things off with informal pre-season training starting Monday 3rd February at JL Murphy Reserve. Keep an eye on WhatsApp for notifications. These sessions will run on Woodruff Oval for all players from U8-U18, and will feature running, fitness activities, and ball skill drills. U13+ Alliance teams will be notified of specific training times via WhatsApp.

As players register, you will receive notifications via WhatsApp with details about times and plans. Formal in-season training will start after the March long weekend on Wednesday, March 12th, with teams allocated official training times and locations. Some U13+ teams have already started planning pre-season sessions, so make sure to register to receive all updates.

Training Times

For mixed and girls teams, training is held at JL Murphy Reserve, 351 Williamstown Road, Port Melbourne. Alliance teams will alternate grounds.
