Girls Teams

We believe in creating pathways for young girls to be involved with AFL from beginner levels through to competitive junior leagues. Our club continues to focus on expanding our girls' program to support the growing demand for female participation.

Our team of dedicated coaches enables us to encourage each player to develop and to strive to be the best they can be, no matter their skill level. We register our teams in a division based on the team's overall experience. This way players are able to play at a level that best suits them and ensures that all our players will get a game each week.

What are the benefits of playing ALF?

Playing AFL has many benefits for girls, including:

  • Physical fitness: AFL is a highly active sport that builds strength, agility, endurance, and coordination.
  • Confidence and empowerment: Girls involved in AFL develop leadership skills, teamwork, and confidence.
  • Community and social connections: Like other team sports, AFL fosters a sense of community and friendship, which can be very important in the developmental years.
  • Breaking gender stereotypes: AFL provides a platform for girls to participate in a sport that historically was male-dominated, showing that women can excel in any field.

Who can I contact with questions?

All team enquiries can be made to the Registrar coordinator, Kevin Dillon.
