John Sculley Community Engagement Award
John Sculley was one of the group of parents who came together in 2013 to setup the Port Melbourne Colts Junior Football Club as an entity in its own right. He was also instrumental in beginning our initial Girls Football program and coached one of the first Girls teams. John was very active behind the scenes as a sponsor and as a co-organiser of some of our social events.
He was also was the 'founding father' of the Port Melbourne Dads group (now in its eleventh year), which provides an environment for Dads to come together and support each other. Starting as an inital kick of the footy and a couple of drinks on a Sunday afternoon, it has grown into a community wide group with over 80 participants.
John sadly passed away after a long illness in 2022, and the John Sculley Community Engagement Award annually recognises a community member who has given outstanding service to our Colts community.

Amelia Costa Award
Amelia Costa and her sisters became involved in our club in early primary school, and her parents Julie and Billy, have been major supporters of the club since that time. Amelia lost a long battle with cancer during the 2022 season and the Costa family approached the club with a request to establish the Amelia Grace Costa Valor Award to perpetuate her memory and values.
This annual award is presented each year to a player who has demonstrated loyalty, bravery, courage, and resilience, values which Amelia demonstrated in her battle against the cancer which eventually took her from us.
The award is open to any player under 18 who demonstrates exceptional on and off-field contributions to the community or club, echoing Amelia's spirit. It includes a perpetual trophy that will be displayed in our trophy cabinet and a trophy for the recipient. It also includes $500 cash of which $250 goes to the recipient and $250 must be used for and go to a charity of the recipient's choice.
