What is the SMJFL?

The South Metro Junior Football League (SMJFL) is an organisation dedicated to promoting and developing junior football in the southern metropolitan area. The league comprises various clubs, each contributing to the overall growth of junior football by offering training, competitive matches, and community engagement activities.

What is PlayHQ?

PlayHQ is an innovative platform designed to streamline the registration process for junior football players. The system is particularly beneficial for clubs and associations, as it simplifies the management of player registrations, payments, and data collection.

How do I register my child?

All registrations are done via PlayHQ. The registration process typically begins with the creation of an account where you must provide essential information such as your child's name, date of birth, and contact details. You will then be taken through the steps of registering with the club.

How do I become a team manager?

If you are interested in becoming a team manager please contact the club. You can view more information about the team manager role on our website.

Do I need a working with children certificate?

The WWCC is compulsory to ensure the safety and well-being of all young athletes participating in our programs. By requiring at least one parent or guardian to hold a current WWCC, we aim to create a secure environment for our players.

What is family dinner night?

The Family Dinner Night is held every Wednesday in the clubhouse, and serves as a great social event. It is an opportunity for families to come together, enjoy a meal, and participate in fun activities, all while supporting the club. You will also have a chance to win exciting raffle prizes!

How do I become a club sponsor?

To enquire about becoming a sponsor please contact Annette Maloney so we can tailor a package to suit your business needs.

How will the club communicate with me?

The club will use our newsletter, social media and WhatsApp groups to communicate all club activities, events and important information.

Where are games played?

Our primary home ground is situated at JL Murphy Reserve, located on Williamstown Road in Port Melbourne, Victoria. Other games will be played at the SMJFL member club grounds.

What is March Insurance?

The SMJFC along with Marsh Insurance, the league's insurance broker and risk adviser, has secured insurance coverage for all affiliated Member Clubs, officials, coaches, umpires, volunteer workers and players.

Am I covered if an ambulance is called?

The PMCJFC registration does NOT cover Ambulance Subscription. Ensure you have your own ambulance cover to avoid liability for costs if an ambulance is called. Visit Ambulance Victoria for details on memberships.

What is the Active Kids Voucher Program?

The Victorian Government’s ‘Active Kids’ voucher program is designed to ensure that all children in Victoria have the opportunity to participate in sports and other physical activities. The program provides eligible families with $200 vouchers, which can be used at the club during registration.
