Working with Children Checks - all you need to know

Over the next couple of weeks, we’re asking all parents and guardians who plan to help out on game day to make sure they’re compliant with South Metro Junior Football League (SMJFL) requirements by registering for a Working With Children Check (WWCC). This is an important part of keeping our club aligned with child safety standards and ensuring a safe, supportive environment for all players. The good news is that it’s completely free for volunteers and only takes a few minutes to apply.

Having your WWCC sorted means you can jump in and help wherever needed, whether that’s goal umpiring, being a runner, water carrier, or assisting in other match day roles. We rely heavily on our parent and guardian volunteers each week, so getting this done now ensures there are no delays when you’re needed. You can apply online here: https://www.service.vic.gov.au/services/working-with-children

Once you have your WWCC, you will need to register yourself as a volunteer in PlayHQ. This is also easy, click here to start the process. https://www.playhq.com/afl/register/1adf55
